Alyth is home to a number of independent retailers selling everything from candles to classic cars.
The largest town in Perthshire, Blairgowrie is under 10 minutes’ drive away, well-known for its plethora of independent retailers and small, boutique shops. With award-winning florists, jewellers, championship pie-making butchers, kilt-makers, bookshops, gift shops, cookshops, craft shops, hardware shops, clothes shops, and a phenomenal delicatessen, you’ll be spoilt for choice!
There are also specialist outdoor sports shops for fishing and shooting equipment, as well as ski and snowboard hire and sales, and several High Street chains. With around 80 shops in Blairgowrie alone, it is possible to buy almost anything you could ever need during your stay in east Perthshire.
Venturing further afield you’ll find both Dundee and Perth within 30 minutes’ drive. There’s a direct bus route from outside the hotel into the centre of Dundee, which prides itself on being “a walkable city”.
In the largely pedestrianised city centre you’ll find a wide selection of known brands and stores in and around The Overgate Shopping Centre and along Marketgate to the Wellgate Shopping Centre – famed for its 40-year-old nursery rhyme clock, large public library and variety of pop-up shops.
